Here at
BGTV, we believe that people of all ages are capable of understanding that the environment is a dynamic organism.
Everything in our environment exists in relation to something else and exists dynamically: each element is defined as much by what it is as by what it is not. And everything in our environment has a history, one that includes its interactions with these competing or vital coexisting elements over time, a history of interactions that has determined the shape each element has taken. And just as every element contains its past, it also contains its future—the seeds of its potential for success or failure lie within it. And within us.
Our every action impacts our world, and the action from which all others follow is thought. Thinking is the starting point of our interactions with the environment. If we can change the way we think about these interactions, we can begin to change the dynamic that has put humans' remarkable creativity in bending the natural world to its needs on a collision course with the predictable as well as the unpredictable rhythms of the natural world.
In every story we cover here at BGTV, we try to show alternate viewpoints to various problems and solutions, and to incorporate the economic, social, cultural, and historical context against which these ecological stories are being played out.
